Introducing Writing Coach for Corporate R&D

Strengthen the evidence behind scientific and technical drafts before they inform decisions.

Introduction

R&D drafts move quickly. The evidence behind them often does not.

A product claim can sound confident and still need stronger support. A safety argument can be clear and still miss a limitation. A technical recommendation can be well written and still leave the wrong question unanswered.

Most general-purpose AIs are built to sound convincing, not to help you think and show you the evidence.

That is the problem Writing Coach is built around. R&D drafts should not only sound clear. The evidence behind them needs to be inspectable.

Writing Coach is now available in LeapSpace™. Paste existing text or start a new draft, then use the conversational side panel to question the reasoning behind a section.

  • What evidence is missing?

  • Where might a claim be too broad?

  • What should be inspected before the draft moves into a report, recommendation or review?

Writing Coach returns suggestions grounded in published research and shows sources the user can inspect. Nothing changes in the draft unless the user accepts it.

What Corporate R&D teams can do with Writing Coach

Use Writing Coach to:

  • Check a claim against published research.

  • Find missing evidence or counterevidence in a draft section.

  • Strengthen reasoning in a clinical rationale, safety case, formulation rationale or engineering recommendation.

  • Inspect sources before a claim moves into a report, brief or review.

  • Stay in control by accepting, revising or rejecting suggested changes.

Built around Claim Radar

Claim Radar is Writing Coach’s built-in evidence analysis tool.

When triggered by the user, Claim Radar scans a draft, identifies key assertions and assesses them against published research. It shows which sources support the claim, which contradict it and where the evidence is mixed. Users inspect the sources and decide what to revise, qualify or keep.

Across Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices, Energy, Chemicals and Materials, Electronics and Semiconductors, and Vehicles including aerospace and automotive, Writing Coach supports the same high-stakes task: helping scientists and engineers inspect the evidence behind claims before those claims become part of reports, reviews or recommendations.

The outputs differ. The risk is familiar: confident language moving ahead of inspectable evidence.

The purpose of AI tools in research isn’t to replace the thinking. It’s to make the thinking better.
